PART TIME RECEPTIONIST

If so, we have the ideal opportunity for you. Currently, we are seeking to recruit a hardworking individual on a part time basis working 2 days per week to begin with in our Falkirk office. There may be room for these hours to increase in time.
Candidates shall work as a Receptionist within our Falkirk office. They will job share the role with our current receptionist providing the first point of contact for the firm and directing clients to relevant departments and fee earners to ensure the smooth operation of the main switch board and management of the reception area including showing clients into meetings and enhancing each client’s experience within the firm.
Key Responsibilities of the role
- Answering all calls coming into the main switchboard and directing these to the relevant departments or fee earner.
- Processing the mail and preparing this to be sent each day.
- Manning reception and showing clients into relevant meeting rooms.
- Managing the meeting room diaries.
- Working with the online case management system.
- Arranging appointments and booking relevant meeting rooms.
- Completing Stationery orders for the firm.
Candidates should possess the following Experience and Skills:
- Experience working within a busy office environment.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, high turnover environment.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Experience working with clients.
- A high level of attention to detail.
- The ability to multi-task.
- Excellent MS office skills.

CIVIL COURT SOLICITOR
Based across both our Falkirk and Alloa offices as and when the needs of the business require the same and reporting to the Directors. The main purpose of the job is to co-ordinate and assist with all work handled by the Civil Court department personally dealing with the all elements of fee earning work in the department in a competent and well organised manner with support where required, providing clients with a high standard of service, ensuring that the Firm is represented in a professional manner and maximising fee income for the Firm.
Duties and Responsibilities

Supporting the delivery of high quality legal services across the firm, with an eye for identifying areas for cross-selling services.
- Responsibility for own litigation advice case load, representation in court, tribunal or children’s hearings and the carrying out of research and the provision of legal advice and opinion relative thereto. To include drafting of all court documents such as initial writs, summary applications, eviction applications, motions and the like.
- Completing accounts of expenses, obtaining decree and progressing diligence as and when required.
- Ensuring service of court documents and timeous lodging with court.
- Taking precognitions and statements from clients or witnesses.
- Providing support to colleagues in relation to their practice areas as required.
- Management and prioritisation of own case load and escalating to the supervising solicitor where necessary. Managing the court diary, liaising with court and tribunal clerks and ensuring deadlines are recorded and met by other staff.
- Researching legal matters.
- Assisting in the instruction of external legal advisors and counsel.
- Proactively manage and maintain your own diary, including arranging meetings, functions and appointments as required.
- Provide support in preparing presentations for talks/CPD.
- Research, gather, collate and arrange appropriate distribution of information, and to provide information before meetings or for other purposes.
- Notarise documents as required.
- Certify that copies of legal documents are true copies for issuing to clients or third parties.
Business Development
The job holder will assist the Directors with the Company’s marketing and business development
- Develop networks with the local business community in Central Scotland, building contacts for the Firm
- Attend events such as business fairs, presentations, dinners, sporting events etc
- Explore opportunities for new business, putting proposals to the Directors
- Assist colleagues with marketing and business development
- Participate in and proactively seek out external networking events/opportunities to develop the business of the firm.
Salary – Competitive and in line with level of experience.
Annual Leave – 25 days plus public holidays.
